THREE SURPRISINGLY SIMPLE LESSONS

THREE SURPRISINGLY SIMPLE LESSONS

After graduating from Law School in 1986, I had a great grounding in legal theory. I knew how to do legal research and how to frame and argue a legal issue. However, I didn’t know much about the practical and human side of practicing law.

Larry Lehmbecker, Attorney

Once I began representing clients, I really started to learn how to be the fierce advocate and compassionate counselor that my clients needed me to be.

Here are some of the key lessons I’ve learned over the past 32 years:

  1. Clients need to be able to reach you – now.
When a client is facing a legal issue, it’s on their mind constantly. For example, when they have a question, they need to be able to get an answer quickly. Then they can relax and not suffer the stress of ongoing worry.
  2. Clients need to know their legal team understands all their issues.
We always do our best to acknowledge our client’s concerns and feelings. Consequently, we instill confidence that we’re fully aware and sympathetic to each person’s individual needs and struggles.
  3. Clients need certainty.
There are no guarantees in the legal field. However, telling clients the odds isn’t enough. Clients want to know that we have a plan to overcome the odds–good or bad–and that we are confident and willing to fight for them.

As I learned these truths, I began structuring my practice and training my staff to make sure we always provide clients what they need. At Lehmbecker Law firm we have a team approach, and a big focus on customer service, so there is always someone available to talk to about your injury case.

We also practice active listening, meaning that our staff is trained to give clients an opportunity to express every concern and feeling they have about their case. Our case plans set forth the paths we will take for successful outcomes. After 32 years, I know that clients appreciate our service, our compassion, and our drive to win.
