As the son of an aging parent I understand firsthand the stress and guilt that can come along with having to make the choice to put your mother or father in a nursing home. (Even though those feelings can be coupled with a feeling of relief if you have carried some of the burden of being a caretaker.)
Unfortunately, the reality is that even the best nursing homes don’t have perfect track records. We assume the staff is attentive, careful, kind, and responsive to its nursing home residents.
