$130,000 Settlement for a Dog Attack Case

Case Description‍

In July 2023, our client was viciously attacked by a large Pitbull belonging to her neighbor. Our client had knocked on her neighbor’s door to relay a message to one of the family members. Unbeknownst to her, the Pitbull, which had a prior history of attacks and bites, was loose in the house and preparing itself to charge her as soon as the door was opened.   

Indeed, as the door was opened, the Pitbull raced out the door, lunging at our client, attacking her, and savagely biting her again and again.  Our client, a 62-year-old woman, was completely defenseless against the repeated attacks of the vicious dog, which went on for several minutes. She fought for her life, screaming and trying to fend off the repeated bites and attacks without success.  

The dog bit her a total of 6 times: three times on her left arm and three more times on her left leg. The attack left severe puncture wounds all over the arm and leg.  The flesh on her arm and thigh was ripped open. Only when the neighbor finally ran out to grab the crazed Pitbull was our client saved from further serious injury.  She required emergency care to treat her injuries, including 23 sutures to repair all of her wounds.

Final Settlement

Nine months after the attack, we secured a $130,000 settlement for our client.
